Well I shared my Idea on TMP as I all way do and this time I got kicked right in the jimmy for doing so.
Looks like I am going to make dam sure I will not offend people before I share my ideas, even tough the ideas and simple like bassing my 15mm minis on a button. Yikes........
Then there is this hole thing called "IMHO". This 4 letter statement make every thing one says OK.
Life lesson: when some one uses "IMHO" I must excuse any insult, caused by said poster!

I think is always nice when someone shares his ideas about basing minis!
New ways to do something are always welcome in my opinion!
;))
Thanks Lobo,
I thought that was what the TMP was for sharing ideas. Well some do not feel so. Any way I will still share my ideas, and will reply to those who like them.

I think it's a good method and a good idea. 140 bases for $7.50 is a great deal. Some people like using pennies, I don't like using pennies because (1) it's technically illegal, and (2) they're too big for my taste.
You come up with good ideas, Noel. Keep it up, don't let a few people discourage you. I still use my Folger's Coffee can lightbox you came up with. :) I'm looking forward to your next one.

Hi Noel
Buttons as bases are a good idea. I find that it's not the weight but the stability offered by the base that's important in keeping minis upright.
I currently use lightweight mdf bases. Once you have a mini plus some Polyfilla on the base it's usually heavy enough to keep the figure upright.

Thats a genius idea Noel.
I have not read the article but can see that the lip around the button means you can place your figure "inside" the button and then use something to raise up the level of the inside to the lip hiding the makers base.
Thus your men will have their feet on flat ground and not be standing on a mini hill where the makers own base is.
I see a lot of figures that come with a small base on them and when they are placed on a flat base the makers base can be clearly seen in the shape of the ground.
On the sharing note..
I posted a while ago asking for help with an idea.
Just that, I asked for help with an idea I had.
Most of the replies were that my idea sucked.
I did not ask what people thought of the idea, I asked for help with the idea.
I was called crazy and all sorts.
It can get you down when you ask people that share your hobby for help and instead you get insults and negative feedback.
I see a great many things that I do not like, I keep quiet, why upset someone on purpose?
I like the idea, you like the idea, it is just that the world is not yet ready for your idea.
You are just ahead of your time!!
Michael.
Thanks guys!
I have to say that there are a number of way to base minis in 15, and I am just trying to come up with the best way for me, and my likes. I know some one out there will feel the same. So far they are stable on level, and on non level ground. They provide a ground level look to the mini not a on top of a hill look, I was getting with the pennys. Then there is the question about using peneys for bases. I really do not feel it is good to use money form my country as a base. It just dose not feel right to me.
I will never knock the use of them as I was using them for years, and they just work. It my personal choice to change.
I would like to put them on a scale and see just how few grams there is difference between the two systems but that is eye poking. Holding the two styles is very close in feel.

I used to work with coinage on a daily basis and it just feels grubby and unclean to me. But each to their own.
Cheers
