GorkaMorka Motor Pool.

Well I have taken a break from life and decided to put up some photos of my works. By break I m not playing with my Tablet, working on my new home theater project, not working on soccer stuff, and the honey do list.

My posts are all GorkaMorka models and yes they are 28mm. I have been using the dip on them, and love how they come out I just need to get some dull coat to knock down the shine.

No new Posts from March.

Well, it has been a slow post last few weeks for me, and if you have been following me with will be able to see I go through cycles. I can post every day for a month or nothing for weeks. Well I am in a post dry spell once more. Its not that I do not have content, I have lots of that, its just life getting in the way of my Blog.

From my last posts you can see I have had the the bug for Gorkamorka, and been collecting minis from eBay. Well in my spare time I have been painting them up, and doing a bit of converting. I have also gotten a new toy form my self. I picked up a Tablet to play with. No it is not an apple iPad!!!!! The only way I will own an apple product if I am given one.

I picked up the ASUS Transformer (not the prim), and it is running Android 4.03 ICS. I love this thing!!! I also got the keyboard dock for it to make it a full Transformer. So lots of my free time have been spent playing with it. Next is getting close to Spring, and the Wife and I have decided to get some work done on the house. By Get I mean I will be doing the work.

We had a dump or should I call it the mud room, and the laundry room that were as if some one threw a grenade  in them. Holes in the walls, dark and dingy. I did a expansion to the laundry last year so the washer, and dryer would fit with the furnace. But the wife wanted to use it with it being finished. Now she has changed her mind, and put me to work. I agreed with her on this one, as I hated to go into these rooms for any reason. and the kids were scared to go in. See they were good places for monsters to hide.

Well now they have a new coat of paint, better lights, and the window is not blocked off, I just frosted the glass to let light in and keep from seeing in.

Oh and soccer starts soon for my the kids. As I am a coach, I have to work on the roster, and get ready for that and the end of the month. Coaching first graders is like wrangling cats!!!

So I hope to get some photos this week of my work both home and Orks.

Good week for me.

Well I had Monday off for Presidents day, and I was recovering from a bad head cold, so what better than to go shopping. My wife has let me buy my self a new toy, and I have not been able to buy a new toy for 8 years (that is how old my oldest is). By new toy I mean a computer, by computer I mean a tablet, by tablet I mean a ASUS Eee Transformer. Man this hing is cool, and tons of fun. Now for people who know me I am a total computer geek, and I have not gotten a new computer in years. See heaving kids means no toys for me. Also I am a PC tech for a big Pharma company, so no new computers is tough for me. I have spent the last few years building systems out of old hand me down parts.

The second great part of the week is when I got my shipment from the UK. It is the GorkaMorka lot I won on eBay. In the box was 2 War Trukks, 2 War Traks, 1 War Buggy, 2 metal Nobz, 2 metal Spanners, 3 metal Yoofs, about 20 plastic boyz, 3 boyz on the trees, about 4 or 5 boyz in parts, a ton of small bitz like guns, and extra arms, a small pile of vehicle bitz like gas cans, and plates. also some extra drivers, and gunners for vehicles. So I spent the other night taking all my bitz, and the new bitz and placing them in a new bigger bitz box. Now I am so over whelmed when it comes to GorkaMorka, I do not know ware to start. So I have placed my female orks in the dip can to strip off their paint. I guess I will work on my little girl's mob.

GorkaMorka

Try as I might, I can not get those dam Orks out of my blood. It is a total shame that GW pushed the Orks in the direction they are going today. The RT, 2ed Orks are what made me fall in love with the green skins in the first place, then they throw GorkaMorka in. When GM first was launched I had some 4k, to 5k worth of green skins for 2ed 40k, and this was a no brainier game for me. The day it was released I was on line in a real store with all my HeroTown bucks, and got the last copy they had. Went home and was in bliss. HeroTown bucks, were a way to keep you coming back to HeroTown. Spend $10 and you get 1 HT buck. I only paid I think $20. for GM as I was saving all my HT bucks for this game. This has to be my favorite GW product of all times, with 2nd 40k a very close second. 

Whit that all said I have been, and still am nutz for any thing GM. So I got the bug again, and I stated that in my last post. So I have been on eBay every day trying to rebuild my collection. So far I have bid on a bunch of stuff, and even asked on forums for stuff. Well the first thing I got was an unopened box of the 6 plastic boyz, and then I just won a bid for a whole bunch of stuff. Now it is still in transit to me from the UK. In the lot is 2 trukks, 2 wartraks, 1 buggy, anout 20 plus boyz 1/2 metal, and a nice pile of bitz. I got all of that for $63.00 USD. Stuff I missed was the boxed game un-opened for $61.99, dam I was between buildings at work when the auction ended. and a bunch of other auctions. In the end I feel I got the bets deal, as I needed truks, and traks. The rest is just gravy form my collection.

But the bug has not left me and I am still on eBay every day looking for the right stuff.

So Now I also would like some bikes, and I can do a number of things to get them.

1. Buy the new ones from GW (nah I am not a fan of them)
2. Buy them from eBay (nah people hold them to a high price, and not worth it)
3. Forgeworld bike, I can not afford them but I do love them.
4. Ramshackel games has some but I need to convert.
5. Kit bash.

I took option 5. Going through my bitz I came up with two strike cycles from ShockForce. I then found and Ork body, arms and got to work. I hacked off the shckforce dude at the midsection, filed it flat, and put the torso on. From here I added the pouches on each side by the hips. Now for the arms, and shoulder pads of green stuff. I added a spanner, and the ram skull for flare. Then lat an Ork head. I am really happy but the gun arm shoulder pad shrank on its self. I have to try and fix that. But tomorrow it will be ready for prim, and I have a second bike to work on next. I have to strip the paint off the Ork girls, and start converting them as well.
