GorkaMorka in 15mm

I have thought of converting GM to a 15mm game for years but could not figure how to alter the rule for this scale. We I decided to play a solo game to see what I needed to change.

So I created two mods using 15mm boys. The boys on foot are from GZG. The bikes are OOP, the gunner in from The Ion Age Malig range. The trukk is a matchbox (still under construction) and the buggy is a plastic card creation with match box wheels.

Here are the Wild Krakas MC

Here are the Skid Markas

So in game one I decided to only change the range and measurement. The 28mm game uses inches for measurement and I went with 1/2ing the measurements. To be honest this did not work well at all. After playing the game I did not need to change any thing else the game rules really do not cater to scale. Yes I will have to use templates from my 15mm game systems but that is fine.

For my second game I decided to make a measuring stick marking lines every 1/2 and inch. I now just replace the inch for 1/2 an inch for range and distance. So when a model moves 4" he really moves 2" So Really I am using 1" = 1/2" for 15mm.

Her are some photos of the second game n order of play. Please keep in mind this scale dose not make for great photos, but allows you to play on a very small space. I used my painting desk for this game and have plenty of room for both mods to have at it.

The Wild Krakas on the left and the Skid Markas on the right

The Wild Krakas move on to the scrap

The Skid move to block and grab some of the scrap

Her you can see that one of the bikes is taking on the truck, well the drive went OOA on that hit.

The Buggy races over to the Wild Nob, and the Skid Nob jumped off in to HTH

Just north of the trukk a Skid boy jumps on a biker

The biker and the boy still in HTH as well as the Nobs

The Wild Nob Madhacka looses to the Skid Nob Migthy Wakka. Also the Biker falls to the boy and goes OOA. This ended the game with a bottling out og the Wild Krakas MC.

Weekend update Guard units, and motor pool.

Mad Doc here with more news of  the Guard, and its progress. It will not matter how many they are they will all die by the hands of the Orc! But let them make a good show of it.

Here you see I have completed another squad of guard.
Add one more squat squad to the ranks. The yellow units this time around.
These tanks were in various states of work, so with some dip, paint, and a canvas cover they they just need dull coat applied to mark them as complete.

Until next time.

Guard squad, and jet packs.

Tonight I finished the painting of a guard squad, they just need basing. Then I took some epoxy putty and pressed it into the jet pack mold. I think this will work from me.

First Jumpa Troopa.

Mad Doc heer, to show off the first of the Fire Jumpas. To make this jumpa, I removed the base, moved the legs a bit, bet the arms in a bit. For the jump I used an old computer hard drive jumper. I put a fin on it, and a wire as the rounded top. I have made three jump packs one I used on this guy the other two I am going to cast. I could not get my camera to play nice today sorry for the shotty photos.

Mega Orcs and a Dread

Well the summer has passed me by, no vacations this year, but allot of painting. The only issue is I was painting the inside of my house not minis. My wife has we need to paint out house, and she was right it is allot of work but it looks great.

I did how ever sneak in a few hours to paint. This past weekend I finished my 4 squads of Mega Orcs, and one Dread. I had painted the leaders some time ago, but needed to finish the boys. Well I think they came out very nice. I have seen others tweak their megas but I did not have the time, and if I do more I will. All flock was my tea flock with tufts of gail force 9 static grass.

Here is another Epic gargant as a Dread. I uses a rotary gun from Shock Force OOP and computer flat cable as the ammo belt. I left this one hanging off for a different look. Also had to glif up the paint job. I still need to add a banner but it looks good.

Orc vehicle contest My entry

Well I started my entry for this contest. It is going  to be a gun truck, manned by goblins. I am still working it out in my head, but as per the rules here are photos of the base of the model. Now I can not win as I am hosting the contest on my G+ community "Space Orcs" but I need to be in it.

My own personal challenge is to do this truck with our spending one cent on it. I have to make it with what I have in my house. Well I found the wheels on one of my son's broken hot wheels in the back yard.

The bulk of this is plastic card stock, and the cab is not solid but I put it together like a box. I also found that using scissors for cutting cloth the zigzag pattern work on card stock.

Here is the truck next to a boy.

Well this is the first round of photos for this contest.

Please if you have any interest in Space Orciod types join the group.

Kit bashed Orc Tank.

Well after reading a blog post from Zrune Lord http://castrarunis.blogspot.com/ I decided to give it a go and created a tank thing for my self. This is a card stock hull, with odd bitz glued to it. Tank wheels are GW tanks wheels. Tread is PC flat cable. Big gun left over from another tank, all slapped together with supper clue.

The welds are 2 part epoxy putty (like green stuff) rolled out to a thin line. Placed over a joint
then I poke it with a pin, or pen on an angle to make the welds.

Enjoy.

More 15mm Orcs painted this weekend.

This weekend I worked on finishing another squad of Orcs. Note: These minis are OOP and are no longer being sold. I Also removed the banners that were cast on them, and replaced with hand painted ones. I am not going to name the fractions, but you should be able to guess them. The top photos are just of the banners, and a boss with flags added. The photos below are of the 10 boy mob. Now I have counted up all of the MJ Orcs I have, and it turns out to be 110. I have 11 full mobs of 10 boys each. I still have more MJ Orcs just not boys.
